Founded in 1995 in Porto Carras of Chalkidiki, the European Society for Sexual Medicine (ESSM) celebrated in the year 2005 in Copenhagen its 10 years of life and development, and created a video presenting the course of this its precious decade. This course has never stopped. In fact, in March 2012, the European Union of Medical Specialties (UEMS) officially established Sexual Medicine as a Medical Subspecialty. The first European exams offering the subspecialty title of Sex Therapist/ Sexual Health Practitioner were held in Amsterdam, Netherlands, in December 2012. It was then that the 10 first Greek Physicians passed the exams and received the UEMS accreditation for the subspecialty of Sexual Medicine.
