Thessaloniki, 9 May 2012
PRESS RELEASE
The Interdisciplinary Seminar on "Sex and Sexuality" is held on May 16, 2012, by the Scientific Staff Members of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
“Sex and Sexuality” is a classical and always contemporary topic concerning mainly the youth. Hoping to shed light on agonizing questions about the body, sexuality, role of sex not only in the human psychological health but also in the overall human development, the Faculty Members together with Undergraduate and Graduate Students, Doctoral Candidates and PhD holders from seven School Departments of the Aristotle University (Philosophy, Theology, Literature, History, Archaeology, Law, Medicine, Biology), have taken the initiative of organizing this interdisciplinary workshop.
The event aims at exposing the multimodal and comprehensive aspects of the hot issue, thus triggering a creative dialogue released from dangerous convictions, prejudice, superstitions and demonized beliefs -within which a large part of the youth still remains trapped- and providing existing scientific answers. All invited speakers are members of the scientific teaching staff of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and are highly recognized in their field.
The event will be held at the Auditorium of the Thessaloniki Municipal Council, kindly offered by its President, Mr. Avramopoulos, and is organized under the auspices of the Rectorate of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. The Publishing House "Armos" graciously sponsors the event.
The workshop begins at 9 a.m., at the Auditorium of the Municipal Council of the Thessaloniki Town Hall. Free entrance for all.
