Very often we find ourselves in front of worried patients asking us about the potential implications of HPV on themselves and their partners. Others ask us about the vaccine against HPV. This year, UroSchool hosts the President of the Hellenic Society for the Research and Treatment of HPV who will present us with all contemporary data on HPV prevention and treatment.
18 months ago, ISUD took the initiative to set up a group of Greek Urologists, based on their presence in international literature upon the issue. They worked for one year in order to present within the context of a specially organized event evidence-based recommendations for the treatment of patients suffering from 2 conditions that often co-exist: prostate hypertrophy/hyperplasia and erectile dysfunction. The overall work of the group has been recorded in a book. The final positions of the Consensus Group will be presented in this workshop.
Everyday clinical practice includes clinical examination, which is highly subjective as an assessment. In many cases this evaluation happens to be so personal that even when recorded in the Urologist's personal notes it does not help at all in the next clinical examination. There have been lots of attempts aiming at objective evaluation systems but not many of them are widely accepted. Two highly experienced colleagues will reveal useful and reliable assessment methods; the first one in Urinary disorders and the second one in Andrology.
Osteoporosis is not only a female privilege. Late-onset Hypogonadism and LHRH analogue therapy induce osteoporosis. The Urologist has to treat the cause, but is not aware of the primary disease. Also bone metastases compose a classical sign of metastatic cancer. An Expert comes to educate us upon the Bone Disease.
