He completed his residency in Urology at the University Hospital of Patras in 1990 and he was awarded his PhD in the same year. He then specialized in Neurourology and Urodynamics in the United Kingdom, at Royal Glasgow Infirmary, Taunton & Somerset Hospital and Bristol Southmead General Hospital. When he returned to Greece he worked at the Urology Clinic of the University of Patras, first as a scientific associated and then as a Lecturer and As. Professor. In the 2002-03 period he worked as a Visiting Senior Lecturer at Bristol Urological Institute and as a Consultant Urologist at Taunton & Somerset Hospital. In the years 2006 and 2008 he was a Visiting Professor at the University of Michigan Medical Centre, Ann Arbor, USA. In 2010 he worked as a Visiting Professor at the University of Perugia, Italy. He was a Board Member of the Department of Urodynamics, Neurourology and Gynaecology, Urology, (ONOGO) of the Hellenic Urological Association and a member of the School of Urodynamics of the International Continence Society (ICS). He has also served as a member of the European Board of Urology Examination Committee. He has delivered numerous lectures at Greek and International scientific meetings. He has participated in more than 100 announcements at Greek and International scientific meetings and has been awarded 6 prizes. He has also authored books and book chapters in Greek and international publications. He has published numerous articles in Greek (27) and 85 articles on PubMed, with more than 1000 citations. He is a reviewer for numerous international scientific journals. As of 2006 he has been the Scientific Director of the Unit of Urodynamic Urology at the University of Patras, the organization of which he first undertook in 1998.
