He is a graduate of the Department of Biology of AUTh. He continued with his postgraduate studies in Human Reproductive Biology at the Medical School of the University of London (Master’s of Science in Human Reproductive Biology). He completed a Doctorate thesis at the Medical School of AUTh, while he has attended the specialization programme on “Administration and Financial Management of Healthcare Units” at the University of Macedonia. He did his internship at the Embryology Clinic and worked as a researcher in the Department of Anatomy and Human Biology at King's College (London), at the Andrology and Gynaecology Laboratory of Jessop Hospital (Sheffield), at the Institute of Obstetrics and Gynaecology of Hammersmith Hospital (London), as well as in the Sectors of Hygiene and Pharmacology of Medicine, AUTh. For seven years he was employed as a scientific consultant at the Department of Medical Laboratories at the Technical Vocational Institute of Larissa, and since 2004 he has been a scientific consultant to the Department of Obstetrics at Alexandreio Technical Vocational Institute (ATEI) of Thessaloniki; at the same time, he has participated by delivering training lectures at the Nursing Specialisation Course (AHEPA General Hospital). Since November 1998 he has participated in the organization and running of the Greek Centre for Sexual and Reproductive Health (KESAY), where he holds the position of Communication Director. Over the last few years he has focused on sperm analysis and cryogenic preservation. He has published 10 papers in PubMed and 5 more in Greek journals. He is a member of the European Society for Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE) and of the Andrology Special Interest Group, the European Society for Sexuality Medicine (ESSM), the Pan-Hellenic Association of Biologists (PEV) and the Pan-Hellenic Association of Clinical Embryologists (PEKE), of which he has been the Secretary General since 2007.
