He was born in Hannover in 1969 and is a graduate of the Medical School of Catania, Italy (1996). He completed his residency in Urology (2006) at ‘Agios Dimitrios’ Hospital of Thessaloniki. He then worked as a scientific associate at the specialized Andrology departments of the 1st Urology Clinic of AUTh, while he was preparing his PhD for the Urology Clinic of the University of Ioannina (2009). He is a Fellow of the European Board of Urology (FEBU-2006). In August 2006 he started further training at the Urology Clinic of the University of Tottori in Japan. From January 2008 to March 2010 he was hired as a Lecturer at the same Clinic. He has chaired a scientific session at an international conference and was a guest speaker at local and international conferences in Greece and abroad. His papers have received awards at the Pan-European Urology Conference (EAU 2009) and at Pan-Hellenic Urology Conferences (2010 and 2012). He has authored 31 papers cited on PubMed, a monograph, a chapter in a Greek textbook and seven chapters in international books, as well as an international book. His main interests are male infertlity, erectile dysfunction, micro-surgery and the pathophysiology of the lower urinary system.
