He studied at AUTh Medical School, where he received his Medical Degree in 1974. He specialised in Dermatology–Venereology from 1974 until 1982 and received his Doctor’s Degree from AUTh Medical School in 1985, with top marks. In 1985 he was appointed Lecturer, in 1993 he trained in Allergology and Occupational Skin Conditions and in 2003 he was elected Associate Professor. In 2007 he was appointed Director of the newly founded 2nd University Clinic for Skin and Venereal Diseases of AUTh at ‘PAPAGEORGIOU” General Hospital of Thessaloniki and undertook its organization and operation. He is a member of 6 International (Founding member of the European Initiative for the Prevention of Occupational Skin Diseases) and 6 Greek Scientific Associations. Since 1993 he has been an elected member of the Board of the Hellenic Society of Dermatology and Venereology (EDAE), which has more than 1200 members; he has repeatedly served as Vice President and Secretary General. He has published more than 100 scientific papers in Greek and International journals and he has delivered more than 120 speeches and lectures at Greek, European and World Conferences. He has written Chapters on Dermatology in Dermatological, Internal Medicine, and Paediatric textbooks. He is a reviewer for 5 International magazines. He has served as Chairman or Co-Chairman at 21 International Conferences and as a member of the Organizing or Scientific Committee of 6 International Conferences. He has participated and is currently participating in 16 Research Protocols, for 10 of which he is the “Leading Researcher”.
